Terms of Service
These terms describe how visitors may use this website, request information, and discuss custom manufacturing services with Protolabs. The site is intended for professional buyers, engineers, sourcing teams, and quality personnel evaluating CNC machining services, injection molding services, additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping, tooling, equipment, and related manufacturing support.
Content on this website is provided for general business and technical discussion. Capability descriptions, tolerance examples, certificate references, lead-time language, and process notes are not a binding manufacturing commitment until Protolabs reviews the full drawing package, confirms material availability, accepts the required documentation scope, and issues a written quote or order acknowledgment.
When submitting a request, users are responsible for providing accurate drawings, revision levels, material specifications, finish notes, quantities, compliance requirements, and any restricted-data handling expectations. Do not send export-controlled, classified, confidential, or third-party restricted files through an unsecured channel unless Protolabs has confirmed the appropriate handling method.
Manufacturing deliverables, inspection reports, material certificates, first article inspection, PPAP elements, special-process records, and supplier certificates must be defined in the accepted quote or purchase order. If a required document is not listed, it may not be included by default. Buyers should review acknowledgments carefully before release.
The buyer remains responsible for confirming that the part design, intended use, legal restrictions, regulatory obligations, and customer specifications are complete and accurate. Protolabs may provide manufacturability comments, process suggestions, or documentation options, but those comments do not replace the buyer's engineering authority or the final approval process required by the buyer's organization.
Manufacturing routes may require outside processors, material suppliers, freight providers, or inspection resources. Any critical approval requirement should be identified before order release. If a route change becomes necessary, Protolabs will communicate through the accepted business channel, but the buyer should not assume that an unlisted special approval, source inspection, or customer-specific clause applies automatically.
Protolabs may update website content, category names, availability, or contact methods without notice. Continued use of the site means the visitor accepts the current version of these terms. Questions about a specific project should be directed to the engineering desk before relying on any general statement.
